Chapter 21: Because they are my friend

Alya, who had left the hut after spending one night there, returned unexpectedly the same evening. Everyone was there except Qama and Malani.

“You’re back!” cried Perens with a mixture of pleasure and alarm. “Is anything wrong?”

“Yes, a lot,” said Alya. “But I’m okay. I’ve brought someone with me. Come in,” she said to Lisi, who entered the hut slightly nervously.

“Hi, mate,” said Landro. “Do you want something to eat?”

“No thanks. I had a meal at Alya’s house.”

“Okay. So why are you here?”
