“I asked you to find a boat,” said Torleos at breakfast the following morning, “because I think we should leave the Great Land for a little while. There is nothing more we can do until we have made plans, and in my view it would be helpful if we made them far away from here, so that we are not distracted by people or events. Also, it will be an adventure for you. Not a great adventure, I admit, but I think you will enjoy it.”
“But there’s nothing else apart from the Great Land,” said Landro.
“Isn’t there?”
“Nothing I’ve ever heard of.” Torleos smiled but did not reply.
“I’m sure Torleos knows what he’s talking about. I trust him,” said Perens, trying to seem more confident than she felt.
